Environmental minerals playing a vital role in Conflicts
Minerals brings in income to many countries in the world. Minerals
suchs as gold, copper, nikel, diamond ans oil are extracted from the
land and sometimes causes conflicts which can results in the degredation
of the environment. The nuclear weapons and its emission cause pollution
which results in toxic rains and sometimes causes draught. In today's
news analysis I am going to dig deeper on environmental conflicts caused
by minerals such as oils, diamond, gold and copper. The chronic wars
surronding Iran, British and other countries are centred on oils found
in Iran. A report from Press tv of 18th February 2012 reveals that India
relies on Iran for Oil while on the other hand The U.S president
imposes sanctions tothose who buys oil from Iran. One can observe the
conflict between Iran and United States. In Zimbabwe there was once a
talk about the blood diamond during the Kimberly process this signifies
that enironmental minerals can cause conflict amongst states, nations or
between individuals.For more evidence
